Our Team

Our team of managers share over 60 years of research experience. They have the expertise to manage clinical trials in the fields of therapeutics, devices, biotech and other medical intervention studies. 

The engine room of CCRep is our 24 highly skilled research nurses and coordinators who work closely with the 30+ clinical investigators. Supplementing this capability is the presence of 8 research fellows within the Division of Medicine at CMDHB who also contribute to the successful conduct of the clinical trials we undetake. 

Our Senior Managers


Dr Stuart Ryan
General Manager
Dr Ryan joined CCRep from industry where he was Clinical Research Manager for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare for 5 years. He holds a PhD from the University of Auckland and has also worked in medical publishing and as a research scientist. Dr Ryan is responsible for the overall performance and management of CCRep including legal obligations and financial management.


Dr John Baker
Clinical Director
Dr John Baker has been a diabetes physician since 1983 and led the formation of the Diabetes Service at Middlemore Hospital as Clinical Head from 1998-2003. He co-founded Protemix Corporation Ltd in 1999, a biotechnology company investigating novel compounds for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. He went on to become Chief Medical Officer for Protemix for 2 years before returning to CMDHB in October 2005 to take up a dual role as a physician in Internal Medicine for CMDHB and as Clinical Director for CCRep.


Mr Murray Farnsworth
Finance Manager
Mr Murray Farnsworth is a chartered accountant active in both industry and health care. He is responsible for financial management, contract review and working with CCRep staff identifying and developing new business opportunities.


Mrs Mary Baldwin
Research Nurse Manger
Mary has many years experience in health and nursing management in addition to professional development, education and training for nurses. Her clinical research experience was gained while working in London for 3 years as a Research Nurse for the West London Cancer Research Network. Mary is responsible for quality and professional development of CCRep’s Research Nurse team.


Ms Ruth Withers
Project Manager - Diabetes, Infectious Disease, Devices
Ruth is responsible for all aspects of clinical trial management within the areas of Diabetes, Infectious Diseases and device trials. Ruth has previously worked for the Cochrane Collaboration in NZ and in the Office of Biomedical Research at the National University Hospital of Singapore before moving to CCRep.


Mrs Lynda Mockett
Project Manager - Respiratory, Renal, Rheumatology, Stroke
Lynda manages clinical trials in the areas of Respiratory, Renal, Rheumatology and Stroke. Her career spans many years in the health industry having worked as both a registered nurse and a senior lecturer at a number of hospitals and health institutions nationally. Lynda holds a Masters of Health Science in nursing and post graduate qualifications in organisation management and research.


Ms Yvonne Dunn
Project Manager - Cardiology, Haematology, ICU, Oncology
Yvonne is responsible for all aspects of clinical trial management within the areas of Cardiology, Haematology, Intensive Care Medicine and the development of oncology trials. Ms Dunn has previously worked as a cardiac nurse but has moved into management in 2002 and comes to CCRep from being a director and operations manager in the NZ wellness company Well For Life.
