Research Nurses
The planning and implementation of a clinical trial protocol is the
responsibility of the research nurse, the Principal Investigator and the other
study team members.

Co-ordinators
Research Co-ordinators generally have qualifications in areas other than
nursing which enable them to assist in the planning and implementation of a
clinical trial. Not all our trials involve medication administration.
Research Nurses and Co-ordinators are responsible for ensuring
successful completion of the study in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
They work closely with the CCRep management team, research physicians,
pharmacists, laboratory personnel, pharmaceutical company monitors and other
research nurses. A key function for each role is to recruit suitable
participants to clinical trials and performing clinical assessments as per the
protocol.
For new employees an orientation programme is offered in
conjunction with on the job training. For an informal discussion on roles
