Middlemore Tissue Bank Governance
The Middlemore Tissue Bank is governed by the Centre for Clinical Research and effective practice (CCRep) with the Trustees of CCRep delegating responsibility for the Middlemore Tissue Bank to the Governance Committee. The Middlemore Tissue Bank has 3 governance bodies, each with their own terms of reference.
Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is established to provide assurance to the CCRep Board of Trustees that the Middlemore Tissue Bank is operated in accordance with its goals and objectives and that all risks within the Middlemore Tissue Bank are appropriately identified, assessed and managed. This committee comprises representative stakeholders and will be responsible for establishing management policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Scientific Advisory Committee
Responsible to the Governance Committee, this group will be acting on an advisory level in regards to the type, quality and feasibility of the clinical research proposed to the Middlemore Tissue Bank as well as reviewing all applications for biospecimens for research.

Middlemore Hospital Operations Committee
Responsible to the Goverance Committee this group will comprise representative clinicians, nurses and laboratory staff involved in the collection and processing of biospecimens at Middlemore Hospital (MMH). It will establish, monitor and maintain operational systems and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Middlemore Tissue Bank, from collection to storage.
